Class Description

Important Note: This is not a recurring class, so rescheduling is not available. This 8-week course is designed for intermediate potters looking to refine their skills in throwing larger forms and working off the hump. You’ll create a beautifully crafted pitcher set, learning techniques for spiral wedging, shaping, trimming, and consistent cup-making. By the end of the course, you’ll take home up to 2 pitchers and 6 cups—perfect for serving refreshing summer drinks! Requirements: Potters must be comfortable centering at least 1 KG of clay, pulling up walls, and creating symmetrical cylinders. Basic techniques will not be covered. All materials and firing are included. Week 1: Throwing large—cylinder-shaped pitcher Week 2: Throwing large—curved pitcher Week 3: Trimming & handle attachment Week 4: Finishing pitchers & introduction to off-the-hump technique Week 5-6: Throwing cups off the hump Week 7: Trimming cups & underglazing Week 8: Glazing What to bring: Please bring your own apron & towel What to wear: Clothes that you don't mind getting dirty and wear something comfortable. What to prepare: Short nails are better, and bring hair tie if you have long hair. Please come 5 minutes early to settle down. Rescheduling : We’re unable to offer reschedules for this class, as we don’t have another session covering the same techniques. For single class student, please be aware that if you are more than 15 minutes late, you will not be allowed to enter the class, and no refunds will be provided. Refund Eligibility : No refunds Rescheduling : If you wish to reschedule your class, a request should be made at least 4 days or 96 hours before the scheduled start of the class. If a reschedule request is made less than 4 days or 96 hours in advance of the scheduled session, a rescheduling fee of $35 per person will apply. However, you are welcome to transfer the class registration to another individual if you prefer.
